Onion in the fridge

My fridge is not as tidy as I would like it to be. Due to a can of coconut cream going bad in the fridge while we were gone. There was a rotting smell that lingered on for weeks.

I tried putting a cut shallot in the fridge at first, after reading a link that a friend shared on how onions can remove smell, since I didn’t have onions at home. It worked for a little bit but the smell was still there, so I tried baking soda and there was a kind for the fridge but it didn’t remove the smell entirely.

A couple of days ago, I picked up a big onion at the grocery store, peeled it and left chunks of onion on each shelf. Guess what? The smell is gone and there isn’t any onion smell in the fridge either.

The shelves have been cleaned so now the fridge is good as new. The good thing is onions kill germs so I killed two birds with one stone.

Have a beautiful day!
