Steam Ground Pork with Salted Fish/ Xian Yu Zhen Rou Bing

This is a dish that I love eating at Chinese Restaurants that serve home cooked style food.

It is a dish that I eat about “once in three thousand” years as my dad would say since salted fish isn’t that healthy.

There are ginger strips, ground white pepper and sesame seed oil in the ground pork patty to mask the fishiness of the salted mackerel. I also added some of the oil that was used to preserve the salted mackerel over the patty to give it more flavor. One beaten egg is used to bind the ground pork together.

You can’t go wrong eating this dish with lots of hot steam rice or white rice porridge/ congee.

Bon Appetite!
